What does Boo Vake mean?Boo Vake is how you would pronounce Bùth Bheag in Scottish Gaelic. Bùth Bheag means Little Shop, and is our proper name, but after many many of years of mispronounciation we decided that Boo Vake might be a little easier.

Are all your products made in Scotland? No, is the short answer. We probably have a 60/40 split between products made in Scotland and those from the rest of the UK. When we first opened, and the following 16 or so years, all our products were made in Scotland or by Scottish makers, then we slowly brought in other makers/designers from the rest of the UK. In the future we may introduce makers/designers from further afield (if they feel like a good fit) but we'll always have a strong Scottish offering.

Do you only send to the UK?At the moment, as we find our feet, yes, we only have an option to send to the UK in our online shop. Please get in touch if you'd like something sent further afield, and we'll see what we can do.

Why is the thing I saw in your shop/instagram/facebook not in your online shop?Baby steps for now. Boo Vake is primarily a bricks and mortar shop (run by one person) and will always have many more products in the physical shop than will ever make it online. Hopefully as time goes on, the online offering will grow a little, but in the meantime if you see anything in the shop, or on social media, that you'd like to buy then please get in touch by email or by phoning 01738 442263.
